This poster
by Lee Conklin marks the second tour of America by Cream, who
were now deservedly HUGE stars. They played three nights at the
massive Winterland, and one night at the Fillmore for old times'
sake where they had previously recorded the live version of Toad
and Spoonful that appear on the Wheels of Fire Album.
"Toad"
is the best drum solo ever recorded, and I've heard Ginger do
it twenty years later and twenty times better at the Palomino
in 1990; while I think the live recording of "Spoonful"
is the greatest live track ever (though Joe Cocker's "With
A Little Help From My Friends" comes awful close).
Staple holes
in corners, perfect condition.
