This rare, very early, and extremely unusual Family Dog poster is in almost perfect condition...slight top left ragged edge, but when matted and mounted, it will disappear. Note the concert is put on at the Fillmore...when all the Family Dog Concerts were put on at the Avalon Ballroom. This was very early days in 1966, before Chet Helms had made permanent arrangements with the Avalon. The Fillmore audititorium was underused, usually for Elks Club meetings and the like.

So though this is a pretty "plain" piece, it is very early on, and therefore quite important artistically and historically. Bill Graham's first Airplane concert at the Fillmore was Feb. 4, so you can see this poster reflects the very beginning of what was to become a focus of the whole period.
